SSS Does Not mean Soccer Only!
The World Cup in 1994 in the USA proved that our stadiums can handle what worlds has to offer. Even has proved to be inspiring in archittcture, look at Wembly and Emirates Staduims in England or some of the Stadiums from the 2002 world cup. Ofcourse before long before USA94 we know our stadiums are world class. They are already built large, thanks to college and the NFL games which has its own right or massive fanfare. Then as MLS came along and grew so did the the concept of the SSS, Soccer Specific Stadiums. Modified outdoor facilties design to have a soccer feel and also benefit MLS teams in several ways, like in revenue and spreading awareness of soccer. But in North america we all know soccer is not a all-year long sport as portraited in Europe. I often read blogs or any other article or pub related to how SSS should look like. Some fans whine and complain about roofs or lack therof or about needing grass(wussies). Its is good to that MLS teams have thier own stadia and there is nothing wrong with sharing tenants either. I love the face that you can have a concert in a SSS or a HS Championship Football game in them too. SSSs are adapting to American Sports Culture.
